Ajarn Suwan

On 7th August 2017  at 08.30 AM, me and the other participants of Sea Teacher Project Batch 4 in PNRU attended Ajarn Suwan’s class in room 212. Ajarn Suwan taught English class. At the moment, Ajarn Suwan’s students would present the presentation about Elements of Advertisement. They were 6 presentator—each of them presented the presentation for 5 minutes. After the presentation, Ajarn Suwan reviewed what had been presented by the students. I enjoyed the class and also got some knowledge about the elements of advertisement, such as; Headline, Sub-headline, Logo, Body Copy, Price, Image/Photo/Ilustration, Contact Person/Website/Futher information for the advertisement.

my buddies and ready to do campus tour

After the presentation finished, my friend and I were asked to introduce ourselves in front of the students. we introduced ourselves one by one and the students have to remember our name because Ajarn Suwan asked the students to pronounce our name clearly. The students were so funny because some of them can’t pronounce our name clearly, for example when they say name with R, they would say like L. 5555

iyah, kami cuma bertiga kok

The second year English major students were divided into 5 groups and were asked to accompany us to do campus tour in PNRU. I was in the same group with Fitriana and Wiwin. We had 6 buddies who would be our guide to do the campus tour. We visited some parts of the campus, such as Thai traditional house, Library, ITDS, and 4 canteens which some of them sell halalan foods. It was too bad that we can’t visited fitness centre since the time was limited for the campus tour and we had to move to another activity. But I really enjoyed the campus tour with Second year English major students.

in front of CTE building

Let’s move to another activity.... at 13.00 PM we met Social study students and Ajarn Satoshi at room 2416 in CTE building, the place where we took our lunch together with other participants of Sea Teacher Project in PNRU. I was late at the moment because I should take a prayer (Muslim) first. The Social study students already introduced themselves when I came in. Ajarn Satoshi said that the Social study students would be our buddy! One by one student teacher from Sea Teacher Project took the paper that already had number in it, so we would get the buddy based on the number. I only got one buddy while some of my friends had 2 buddies. My buddy’s name is Pookpik. She is so cute!

I was late >.<

rehearsal  "Let Us Move Ahead"

ready for tomorrow

After we got our own buddies, Ajarn Satoshi told us that the next day there would be a 3rd ASEAN Studies Quiz Competition with Social study students, so Ajarn Satoshi asked us to be a special guest in the opening ceremony of the competition. We were asked to wear our traditional clothes and sing an ASEAN song tittled “Let Us Move Ahead” together with Social study students. Because we didn’t know the song, Ajarn Satoshi asked his students to teach us the song, so we did rehearsal with our buddies and we took some photos in front of CTE Building.

Sawasdee kha Thailand!

A Journal from Phranakhon Rajabhat University (PNRU):

arrived at Soetta Airport, Jakarta

On August 6th 2017 at 13.40 PM I arrived at Don Mueang Airport, Bangkok. I tried to look for some friends who is going to be placed in PNRU. After that, I called Ico to ask about where she was at that moment and we decided to meet at meeting point together with Khairin and Fitriana who are from the same university as me. At first, I saw a lot of foreigners and I was confused because it was the first time I go abroad. I thought that day was the day where new experience is started. And I was ready to begin this journey for a month ahead in Thailand.

Me, Khairin and Fitriana finally met Icho (my roommate), she is from Borneo Tarakan University

After we met at the meeting point, we tried to look for the sign of Sea Teacher that was hold by a person who would pick us up to PNRU. Then, we met Ratree and Ajarn Pichy. They took us to the dormitory. On our way to go to dormitory, there was a traffic jam but not much. I took us around 10 minutes to get to PNRU. After we arrived there, Ajarn Pichy and Ratree took us to College of Teacher Education (CTE) to get some halalan food for lunch at room number 2416. We got some Rambutan and cakes. Thank you Ajarns. ^^

After we finished our lunch, Ajarn Apichart and Ajarn Suwan came to the room and we had small talk to them. We were asked to introduced ourselves. I am Muthmainnah, a 4th-year student in Lambung Mangkurat University. My university is located in Banjarmasin, South Borneo. My major is Mathematics education. My motivation to join this program is that I want to get some new experience in teaching Math in abroad as well as to share our culture to others especially to Thai people.

Then, we got program plan of Pre-Service Student Teacher Exchange in Southeast Asia Batch 4. And we had met the other Indonesian and Philippines students who would stay in the same dormitory as me. We introduced ourselves again to other student teachers. After the meeting, we went to our dormitory and brought all our belongings to our room.

still waiting the simcard 5555

At 6 PM we decided to go out with Ratree to buy sim card, but Ratree couldn’t accompany us so that she asked her friends to take us to Max Value. However, in Max Value, the price of the sim card was expensive. So Ratree’s friends took us to another place that is Central Plaza. Then, Ratree came and met us. She helped us to buy sim card because the seller couldn’t speak English. After that, we finally had our sim card. And we decided to buy our dinner at KFC in Central Plaza. Then, we went back to our dormitory to take a rest and save our energy for the next day.
